About the Event
"Responding to Nature" is a 3-day, 2-night artist retreat that will focus on the organic, natural world around us through intuitive abstraction. We will explore mark making and the choice of value or color in approaching drawing or painting.
Participants will experience 10 hours of hands-on guidance and instruction by professional artist and educator Chatham Meade Kemp.
Starting at noon Friday, October 22, 2021, until 3p Sunday, October 24, 2021, you will have full access to the grounds of The Lodge at Sweetwater Studios, nightly shared accommodation in one of our Eco-Luxury Glamping tents, and all meals for this three-day, two-night retreat.
This retreat includes:
- Ten hours of artistic instruction with professional local artist and instructor, Chatham Meade Kemp
- Solo work and relaxation time
- Daily relaxing yoga and forest meditation
- All-access to Tropical Greenhouse Spa (sauna, hot tub, saltwater pool)
- Nature trails, forest bathing, bonfires, & stargazing
- All meals for the duration of the retreat
- Shared nightly accommodation in Eco-Luxury Glamping Tent (2 twin beds or 1 king-size bed) or our 4-Person Lakside Deluxe Island Tent (4 twins or 2 Kings)
Participants will be sent a supplies list before the retreat. Art supplies not included in the ticket price.

Sleep lakeside in our Deluxe Island Glamping Tents. Each Tent sleeps up to 4 people and features an over water patio with Adirondack chairs and a private bathroom with shower. *Retreat attendees will be assigned a roommate. If booking with friends, please note roommate requests at time of booking. **This option is PERFECT for a group of 4 friends who all want to sleep in the same tent, or the adventurous soul looking to connect with new friends.
